Im coming out to Orlando Disney later this year and while Im over thought it would be a good idea to pick up some 18v Makita Li-ion batteries as they are cheaper over there. Anyone know the best place to get some in that area and what sort of price they are at the moment ?

Don't know about Orlando but Axminster have them on offer at the moment 69 quid each.

there's not much down by the airport or disney except tourist stuff. If you rent a car you could try home depot who carry Makita. Whether they would have spare batteries in stock is a gamble.

I'll bet that you could order them on-line and have them delivered to your hotel (if you can get the timing right) or at least have them ready for pick-up at the store

Be sure and check out the TSA regulations for taking batteries with you.  If I'm reading it correctly, you'd be limited to only two and they must be in your carry on bag.  Here is a link: Battery info

Amazon would probably be the best price.  You could order them now and have them shipped to where you are staying.  Locally down there, Home Depot would have the better prices as they have much more buying power than the smaller retailers.  Lowes does not sell Makita so they would not be an option.  HD would definitely have them in stock, and there will be several stores within a reasonable ride.

Florida has a 6% sales tax, probably great compared to your taxes.  If you buy from amazon.com and get it shipped to you in FL, there is no sales tax.  If you are not familiar with the various states sales taxes, they are collected on in state purchases.  If you order something over the internet or by phone and that retailer does not have a physical presence in the state you are having it sent, then there is no sales tax to be paid.
