Don't watch soccer (er, football), but listening to the commentary by the announcers on the recent win by Man city (3-2) over Manchester united was pretty entertaining.

great result.
joe barton  LOL. head case
glad they won in the end but it was tight

Well it was not fun for me. I've been a city fan my whole life and was a season ticket holder until I moved from England. At the end of the game I was exhausted, had no voice and I never want to go through that experience again. On the flip side if you're going to win a title for the first time in 44 years that's the way to do it in style. I don't think there'll ever be another finish to a season like that again.

Quite a final day to the Premier League season with battles for the title, CL, & relegation on the line until the final whistles. Know a life-long City fan that was in the same state as Richard until Aguero's winner. Can't help but mention Arsenal finished above Spurs for a 17th consecutive season.

It's too bad that the Premier League doesn't have a play off between man. U and City for the championship, goal differential is a poor way to decide the yearly winner.  Both teams provided great football (soccer) this season.

I disagree. City beat man u twice in the season. How many more times do we have to play them? Over 38 games the best team always deserves the win. This year it was city's turn- in 1989 Arsenal won it on goal difference. Playoffs merely reward a team for being second best as the first placed team has everything to lose.

There are playoffs to determine promotion to the higher divisions but I've always thought it unfair that a team finishing sixth can be promoted ahead of teams finishing third fourth and fifth.

Bloated playoffs have turned our sports leagues in the US into a crapshoot creating undeserving champions. With City doing the double over United this season there is no argument. But changing the tiebreaker in the Premier League from goal differential to head-to-head or a 1-game playoff might not be a bad idea.

I agree with the "bloated playoff's" I was just looking for ideas to break the tie instead of goal differential.  Head to head would be a reasonable tie breaker said the sad Man U fan [wink]

In Spain head to head is the tie breaker but it is based on meetings between the teams during the season, not an extra game played later. (city would have won this way too!)
