Man re-grows tip of finger...

Amazing story.  It rekindles my faith in the medical field.  Now, if they could only find a way to use it on that piece of crown I cut short yesterday...

Nothing like cutting your last piece of crown for a room a 1/2" short, then having to spend 1/2 a day or more searching out a single piece!

I think by the time my kids, definitely my grand kids(none yet), are grown this will come to pass for all the organs and/or limbs. The best thing is not dealing with the rejection from transplants for organs.

Seems like science fiction always comes to pass as reality.

Everyone,
Healthy skepticism is a good idea here folks!  Believe me, no one has yet found a way to "regrow" lost fingers by turning pig bladders into powder!  You can trust that such things are just not that simple.

It will come to pass. No one was ever going to the moon, or going to make an atomic weapon or even use a cell phone.

If a lizard can grow a tail someday we will break the code and do it in humans. We just have to do it in mammals first and looks as if it has been documented in mice. Some internal organs already do regrow themselves.

Go here - in test mice altered genes already are being made to grow parts in mice. It's around the corner, be skeptical but be open minded too.

this may be hard to believe, but i was taught in developmental bio class that indeed we do have the ability to regenerate a finger that has not been cut above the the joint that contains the fingernail. the problem is standard treatment involves stitching the wound thus closing the wound not allowing the regenerative process to occur. i have never seen or heard of this happening--just what i was taught
