Built a media cabinet to house stuff that has been lying on the floor for sometime. Inspiration was from a few designs that I saw on fine woodworking.

Attaching a couple of pics to the post and an url to build process. I will also edit this post in the future to describe steps.

First off thank you

Its great that people like you share their knowledge and time.

The Media Cabinet looks great.

The pictures are a good insight into the build even with out captions.

Which vac sys are you using ?

Would love to see some more of your work.

Thanks

I was about to reply when Festastic's post popped up, so ditto what he said  ;D and I like the way the door head rail is shaped into the drawer.
Very cool.

Neat job. I enjoyed looking at your build log. You really made use of the Domino!

And congrats on a great workshop too.

Richard.

Thanks guys.

The vac sys is something I built using parts from joe woodworker. It is really useful for sanding, Domino - even using the block plane.

I also started out with craftsman tools (worked great for me initially) migrated to Festools and this is my first project with the hammer tools.

How did you like working with the A3 31? I've been considering one to complement my Festools.

Both fit and finish are worlds apart from what I have used before - and the 12jointer is very useful.

Nice project - I like the design and appreciated the in-process photos.

One question - was that the Festool vacuum clamp unit you were using?

Same question here! Do you like the A3 31?

Guy Ashley was kind enough the invite me a while back to his work shop to have a look at his hammer machinery really looked a good bit of kit for the price really.  I am going to the NEC this monday coming as Felder invited me to come and have a look at the hammer.  Be nice to know your opinion on the machine if their is something I should be aware of maybe or something you wish you might of got like an extra accessory.

Oh nice job I like the design got a bit of a modern touch to it.  One thing though which I know would annoy me if I was using my laptop on there would be the magnet catch could you not have the magnet attached to the unit at the top. At least then you have a complete flat surface nothing in the way then.

I've been using the A3-31 for 2 years now and found the optional digital wheel in the crank and a small extension table on the infeed jointer table very useful. The small extension is handy for longer stock. Also the cobalt planer knives have a much longer life than the regular HSS.
