Merry Christmas! What Festools did you get for Christmas?

Since the introduction of the OF1400, the Festool LR 32 Guide Plate cat 494 340 (used to work with either the OF1010 or OF1400) for drilling has had factory holes to attach the OF1400.

You should not need to drill your own holes for that purpose. Of course if you bought your LR 32 Guide Plate before the OF1400 was introduced, then it is only factory set for the OF1000 or OF1010.

The LR 32 mm base plate and guide rail system I bought used and it is the old style i think he said its about 20 years old and the holes don't line up so I do have some holes to drill.

Your OF1400 has tapped factory holes in its base to accept metric form flat head screws used to mount an OF1400. Do you have such screws or will you need to buy some, perhaps from Festool USA Service? With those screws, how will you ensure your OF1400 is correctly centered on the LR 32 guide plate?

With the OF1010, the fastening is a clamp action, so there is adjustment room. The supplied centering mandrel is used for this purpose. However, the factory drilled holes in the guide plate match the factory tapped holes in the OF1400 without any adjustment possible.

I got some monetary supplements from friends and family for Christmas, turned them into a C15 set which finally arrived in the mail today.  A very welcome compliment to my CXS (which I joyously won in in one of the forum contests when it first came out!). The 5/16" chuck was killing me at work; though I love the CXS as a driver, sometimes I need to use a Kreg jig or chuck up a larger bit.  The eccentric chuck is fantastic, the right angle chuck makes the one from the CXS look like a toy, and finally: a 1/2" keyless!  Love the feel of a C-series drill, truly hope festool continues to implement the style.  Merry late Christmas!

late arrivals for a second home renovation project.......Kapex, RO-90 and CT36..........mini needed an upgrade!
