Looks to me like it is completely compatible with systainers.
They show the OG MetaLoc Box in the middle of the left stack here.
They sure stack, but not attach to each other. Note how the stack on the right is connected, while stack on the left is not.
The older Meta
Loc is functionally the same as Tanos T-Lock.
The new Meta
Box is not. The latch in the center doesn't hook up to anything. It's more of a stop, that prevents upper MetaBox in the stack from sliding forward. Metabox has wedge-like feet, similar to what Systainer has, but 4 of them on every corner. Those feet hook up to the lid of bottom MetaBox, then the latch holds it in place. You won't be able to even turn the latch if you stack T-loc on top of the new MetaBox, as the latch doesn't have a matching slot in it.
MetaBox is not even lockable with its predecessor MetaLoc. What was Metabo thinking about? Patent issues?

All they have to do is modify the latch slightly. Perhaps even user could do it, or 3D print an alternative one (an aftermarket opportunity).
