Metric set-up blocks available from Woodpecker for a limited time

Woodpecker shipped the saddle square, to me, in the one rate US Postal Service box. Just call them and ask them to ship US postal service.

Thanks Greg.  I will do that.

I'm having the same issue with no USPS shipping option being indicated on the Woodpeckers site.

So far no answer to an e-mail to Woodpeckers but the Canada Post situation (note that at the moment it is a lockout) is likely the cause.

News reports here suggest there will be back-to-work legislation in effect by sometime next week but that is also the deadline for ordering the metric setup blocks.

Lots of companies will ship USPS domestically but not to Canada.  Having said that, apparently Woodpeckers will ship by USPS to Canada - they just don't offer the option during the strike.

For those waiting for these the ship date of 8/10 has come and gone, new date, early October.  Bummer.

The BCT Production Scheduler has been giving lessons over at Woodpecker's...  [eek]

The issue at Woodpeckers is the economy, the company down sizing, moving manufacturing and starting production back up again.  They have some issues they're working through.

I wasn't aware they had relocated -- where did they move to?

I don't think the company relocated, just the manufacturing facility is my understanding.

I ordered a couple of sqaures and a ruler back in may/june. They shipped this week. Good stuff but you have to be patient.

Nice products but dreadful planning / timing / estimating / scheduling / whatever.

I have over $1000 worth of items back ordered, more than half dating to May, and haven't seen anything other than e-mails indicating "... more delays..." etc.

Darn it  [sad], I have had several jobs lately where I could have used them and was eagerly awaiting their arrival.

We must have the same items ordered & in the process...  [smile]  Still a quicker turn around than BCT (which I also have a few $$k in the hopper).  [unsure]

Perhaps, and perhaps I made my situation worse by indicating to delay shipping until the order is complete – when shipping to Canada my experience is the fewer shipments the better.  But of course that was based on estimates of shipping that have been repeatedly extended.

The fact that other suppliers are worse doesn't really offer any comfort.

I realize estimates are just that but still, they are in the business of making tools and presumably know how long things take in terms of materials, fabrication, etc.

How can they be so far off in estimating how long it takes to make what is basically a ruler?

As far as I know Woodpecker still does most if not all of their own machining in-house which can create bottlenecks in the mfg. process because of the capital $$ constraints.  BCT on the other hand outsources pretty much all but assembly so should have better scheduling (but not so).

Hope they make it. Woodpecker has some great products....
