I need to purchase a new palm router. I have used a first generation Bosch Colt for 20+ years. That router has served me well except wasn't a lot of bearing surface and one has to be on his game when doing round overs on narrow window stool, lest rocking off the edge pretty easily. The only task that I currently use a trim router for is to ease edges with a 1/8"-1/4" round over or chamfer bit.
I'm having a tough time justifying the cost difference of the 700 vs another Colt (about $300). Can anyone tell me what they do with their 700s that could sway me to the green and black? For edge treatment, I like the elongated base of the 700 to help the rock off effect, but that is not enough reason for me to invest. All advice is appreciated.
