I'm trying to figure out the difference between the base plates of the two MFK 700 versions offered and was hoping for some help. Can you remove the off-set located on the bottom of the MFK 700 EQ/B Plus (#574456) base plate to make it flat like the base that comes with the MFK 700 EQ Set (#574368)? In photos it looks like there are four screws holding this off-set in place (see attached). Are there any other differences between the bases between the two options offered by Festool? The downloadable manual and Festool website are not very clear if they are the same base plates. Some images for the MFK 700 EQ/B on the Festool USA website would lead you to believe that the base plate is the same and flat (see attached).
I would buy the Set version, but don't need the 1.5-degree horizontal unit. Instead I need the 0-degree unit and figured I could buy the EQ-B Plus and then add the 0-degree horizontal unit as an accessory to save a few bucks.
Hope this makes sense. Any help or clarification would be appreciated. Thanks!
