MFS 700 Profiles

Any dealers still have the 700 Profiles available?  I ordered and thought they were in sick at one place only to not be in stock. I am trying to replace a damaged one from my MFS 700 set. Thanks

Best to take builderbob up on his offer, these things are getting as scarce as hen's teeth. I saw a seller on eBay that was selling extra MFS sets for 2X their normal price.

Thanks. I found a dealer that still had the profiles in stock and Tyler is checking to see if he can help on the damaged piece. I jumped on the set so hopefully that will get delivered.

I resisted the urge to get the 2000mm extensions because I couldn't imagine a scenario where I might need them (already have the 1000mm ones).  But now I'm starting to wonder...

Router sled for sure, but I figured I could attach a few profiles together for a longer length. I actually had the 2000 in my cart too and resisted and now they are gone at one dealer. They are pretty scarce nowadays and I imagine in the coming days they will be impossible to find. What a shame. As someone else noted, I put these as a priority to round out my set and now some other tools are taking a back seat. But, have strike while I can and before it is too late.

I use two 8' 8020 15 series 1530 extrusions for my router sled.  I use their bi-fold door UHMW Bifold Hanger Profile 15 S 6808 attached to aluminum angle that I clamp my  MFS 200 by what ever length MFS, I need to guide my 1400.  I already had two sets of all the other sizes so I bought the 2000 from Bob.  Now all I need is a 70" wide slab to flatten.  [cool]

I mentioned it in a different thread, but I purchased the 1000mm profiles from a company out of the UK (the same one that Scorpion used for his long MFT/3 NAINA profiles) and hope to have them in a couple more weeks.  I will let everyone know when I get them (they also have the other lengths).

I saw your other post and have also ordered the 2000 mfs rails from them. Amazingly, the cost, including international shipping, is about 40% less than the original US cost.

Do the UK ones mentioned above come with all the required brackets/screws (i.e the same deliverable as Festool)?

Or do you just get rails?

Having made a very rugged router sled out of 20mm extrusions, I have a hard time believing that the MFS sticks could possibly be rigid enough for this purpose. Even doubled up, the 20mms will flex a bit in the middle as my 2200 rides over it. Considering the size of the gargantuan bits one generally uses when flattening, the thinner profiles do you no favors--I almost always find myself jacking the thing up just to get it to clear with the bit bottomed out in the collet.

The MFS is a neat idea, but I can pretty much always accomplish the same thing with some half inch stock and a bottle of 2P10 in far less time than it takes to mess with all those stupid little screws.
