MFT 1080 spares

Hi all, does any one know where I can get spares for my 1080 as some oike has stolen the systainer containing all the attachments, which means I now have a very expensive trestle  [sad]. My local supplier says festool dont have any so I will probably have to hunt for old stock  [huh]. any advice gratfully recieved

Festool guarantees that spare parts will be available at least 7 years after unit was discontinued.  Call to Festool UK, or check EKAT on Festool UK site for the part number.

here is a link to miles tool and machinery center. i have never used them so have no opinion of them . they claim to have all the bits. if you use them will you post your opinion as i might buy one day

the sys they took had everything in for the table except the guide rail and back bar, i.e. clamps, protractor, stops, hinges, sytem clamps, quas dogs and a few mods that I had fabricated, why ? have you got  some bits then?

By 'back bar' do you mean the fence piece that slips into the protractor?  If so, you can readily get that from EKAT for $14 (cuz I have a few  [cool]); same with the stops, and fence clamp (part to left of the fence holding it in place).  All of those are still available.

The clamps naturally are still in retail.

You said hinges so I presume you mean the hinge in the back for the guide rail and the front piece the rail sits in?  If so, I'm sure they are also on EKAT, but you might do better to post a "WTB" posting in the Classifieds here to see if a dealer still has a 1080 kit.  I walked into my Woodcraft here and they had two boxes of 1080 parts (everything but the basic table and the rail) on clearance for less than the price of two fence clamps  [cool]2.  If they had 2 sitting around, I'm sure there must be a dealer with one in a dusty corner they might ship to you (UK dealer; or find a US dealer and someone willing to proxy).  If I go to Woodcraft soon, I'll see if the other kit is still there.  If so, we could see if you want it and I'd ship everything but the fence as that would triple the cost when you can get it for $14 from EKAT in the UK.
