Big  project coming up where a second MFT 1080 would be great to have for longer wider panels.  If this goes, I would be willing to trade a new MFT3 for a 1080 plus a little cash.

Bill, if we lived closer, I would totally take you up on that!  If you run into a jam and wanna ship, contact me!

Bob

Like Bob said, if we lived a little closer...  And you wouldn't even need to give me a little cash -- I'd be okay with a straight swap for your MFT/3.   [tongue]   Sorry, just couldn't help myself.   [big grin]

I honestly don't mean to point out the obvious...why not just purchase another MFT/3?  Unless you have a situation like me...3 MFT 1080's and 3 MFT 800's, then I understand!

Out of curiosity, is there something you don't like about the MFT/3?  I'm not keen on the wabblyness of the table and if it really needs support arms to be more taught, it should just come with it. This is coming from a non MFT/3 owner, but I've been considering one for my site table as I'm currently using the MFT/3 Kapex and could use a larger table!  Just curious on your motives!!!

Bob

I guess the main reason anyone wants an MFT/1080 (or /800) would be to have another table that is compatible with their existing one. I wouldn't mind upgrading to a new MFT/3, but I'd rather get a second MFT/1080 as that would give me a larger work area.

I totally understand and agree with that logic as I have a bunch and collected them before they went extinct!  My inquiry to the op was because he was offering a new MFT/3. Sounds like he may have both I guess!

The other thing to be on the lookout for (regarding the 1080) are the aluminum wings that attach to the 1080 for extended surface area. (not available any longer.)

Ps. Having several 1080's (and 800's) another reason for a their preferred use is once you are into assembly mode having the lower height I find it more ergonomically pleasing.

I have one of the wings...I've been looking for another (not aggressively). The reason I scooped up all the 1080's and 800's I could was because I like the ergonomics of the height. Now I have them all used in the shop and am left with a smaller MFT/3 Kapex for the site work and it's just too small! Everytime I see a 1080 listed for sale, I hold my breath hoping that it's a local seller...nope!

Bob

Hint...if anybody close to central Connecticut is considering offloading an MFT 1080...hit me up!!!

I just ordered last week and received the VL700 extension, from Uncle Bob.  Is that what you're referring to?

Are you saying they're a discontinued item, though some are still in the wild?

That's exactly what I'm referring to.
Item no.  489575.
If you put that into Festoolusa web site you get zilch.
Bob must have some old stock.

Perhaps Shane could shed some light as to reason of their demise. (the table extensions)

I haven't sold any in a while so I don't have them in stock but they appear to readily available from the warehouse. 'Anybody want one?

Tom

most of you hit the mark.  I have a 1080 and want a larger surface but don't want to purchase 2 new mft3 units.  I'm working with someone in North Florida.  I'll purchase a new 3 and trade it for the 1080 plus a bit of cash.

I was disapointed a few minutes ago to find that the 2 meter side rails are no longer made.  I had toyed with the idea of building a really big one like Jerry Work's.

Another option is to use 4 of the longer profiles from the 1080, along with four corner pieces, to make a square table that will fit between your (soon to have) two 1080s.  Two sets of table connectors and your set.  You'll be able to swing a 118" guide rail from the MFT brackets.  PM me if this is something that interests you.

Why not use 2 MFTs and make a extension table to sit in between them. You could make the MFT3's as long as you want.

Though I imagine I wouldnt make a center extension loner then a original MFT3 table.
