Hi guys,
I purchased a mft/3 second hand (though it was completely unused) and was setting it up yesterday. I noticed a couple things and wanted to ask you festool wizards:
1. The flag stop is missing the underside nut that goes on the guide rail. Does anyone know the size of that or should I just take the knob to the store and start testing different sizes?
2. In the box of parts there is what appears to be an approximately 12" long or so maybe 1/2" thick round bar..it looks like an axle of sorts but I have no idea what it would be for. I've never seen anything like it in the known pieces that come with the mft. Any ideas on what that might be for? It seems to be solid steel by its weight.
3. The height adjustment clamps for the guide rail:
They are pretty jerky trying to adjust them up and down. Is there any way to smooth that up? Lube? Also..the rear pivoting one feels like its getting caught up a little when I'm pushing it down. As I continue to push it clears what is binding it up and then I can continue to push it closed where it does function as intended. Sorry for the poor description. Essentially it's not as smooth of an action pushing down like the front one is. Ideas?
4. One last question. I adjusted the cams on my ts 55 and it slides pretty easily still with very little play side to side. I noticed though that when taking it off the guide rail on the mft, the saw will pull up on the guide rail a bit before it releases. Is that too tight?
Thanks
