MFT/3 VL CMS Unit

Hi

Am i right in saying that the VL 'outfeed table' 492092 UK, only fits the stand alone CMS GE unit and not the MFT/3 VL Unit? Two support legs on this outfeed table but only one leg on the MFT/3 VL Unit.

What options do i have if I'm looking to purchase this unit for use with my MFT table to form a router table.

Hi,

It does indeed only fit the GE as it attached to both sets of legs at the shortest side. The other thing to consider, the actual leg mounts are totally different, so there are no fixings on the MFT version.

For the MFT version, there isn't much option apart from making something up as there will be nothing to attach to, you might be able to make up some brackets to fit under the MFT rail, but its not ideal.

Useful info, thanks.  I don't find the Festool online 'interactive' catalogue much use at all with what fits what.

Apart from the MFT VL only having 2 legs, isn't the edge extrusion shape all different from the GE as well?

Yes they are different, the MFT has a T-track underneath the V shaped rail (and another on the backside) , so you can use clamps or other things fitted in the T-track, the GE has only the V Rail.

So Fences , Angle stops and anything designed to clamp onto the V rail will fit both.

If you have the Kapex extensions, those will fit the VL. They aren't particularly wide, but in most cases it's sufficient for a router table.

Yep, I forgot those, both types of the Kapex extensions fit the VL Module
