MFT/3 - VL new connection to mft?

Hi all,

The postie has just dropped of my new mft/3-vl and ts55 r insert.  [smile]

I got the mft/3-vl over the cms for a few reasons but one of the downsides to the mft/3-vl I could see was how it connects to the mft.

Well to my surprise when un boxing it this morning it has a completely different system to connect to the mft!

I will let the photos do most of the talking, but is was so simple and easy to set up. The small 4mm hex adjusts the black plastic v groove which is a fine height adjustment and the 5mm hex adjusts the metal clamp to lock it down.

Is this a new feature as I have not seen this mentioned anywhere? Apologies if not!

Ok so not that new then! I had only seen the single knob that only just clamps onto the underside of the v groove.

Just about to pull the trigger on some extension tables for my CMS-GE, will look out for the connections on those.

Congrats on the CMS, you will love it. I have the TS75 insert, just waiting on the right ripping fence now to arrive from the postie. Adds a lot of new capabilities to the workshop

Put it to work right away today with the ts55 insert and loving it so far!

The VB-CMS/CS 50 Extension Table (the one with the legs) definitely connects to the CMS-GE using those type of connectors. The VL Extension Table (infeed/outfeed) doesn't, but I'm not sure about the VB Extension Table as I don't have one of those.

The VB table connection is very different relying on two connections to the frame. They do not rely on connection to the V-groove on the top of the frame extrusion.  Check the photos on this page.

Will the connectors attatch the cs50 to the mft?

Congrats on the new mft/3-vl,you might want to look at the sliding table attachment,i found it a worthwhile investment on my cs50
