MFT fence guide rail and other stuff.

Do you guys usually remove all the items from the top of the MFT like the guide rail and protractor when you transport it from job to job?
If so, is there a systainer to hold the smaller parts. I know the guide rail and fence would not fit, but the other stuff.

I do  and I hate it!  To be honest I think its a pile of crap really!  

The bloody thing is so protrusive!!!   Keeps you away from the wall like half a mile!     It adds SOO much weight to the bench its crap to carry with it all attached!    The rail doesnt fix you have to attach a clamp or something if you want to start transporting it with everything attached or the rail flaps about and its adding strain on the pivot section.

I wish I never bought it!  I love the MFT bench but the accesories for it are pile of crap  unless you have a spot for it and leave it set up but for site work Na!  No good.    

All these after market accessories people are making here on Fog  for the MFT and rail system are brilliant and I will be buying some of the stuff just at the moment got other things I want and not have the need for any of it yet!

And you need the Qwas dogs behind the rail to keep the rail from flexing when you cut.  Frustrating that such an expensive tool would have flex like that and need a 3rd party fix.

To answer the question, I have a sys 4 that I toss the small parts in.  I leave the rear rail attachment / hinge attached to the rail which is removed from the table as well as all the other stuff.

So I move the MFT/3, the guiderail, the fence rail, and one sys 4.  Setup time is less than 4 minutes.  The sys 4 also carries other Festool stuff like clamps as well as other frequently used measuring tools.

My tables mostly stay in the shop, but leaving the hinged bracket attached to the rail is kind of required if you expect the stops for the brackets to be useful.  In other words, if you were to remove the hinged bracket from the rail, the stops will not longer be as accurate when you reassemble -- so, leave the bracket installed on the rail.
