Before Peter's UJK Parf Fence hit the market I brought some 1575 aluminum from Faztek with goal of creating a fence. 1575, is the same profile as the 15-series but 1/2 the height, so 1.5" by 0.75".

I finally got around to turn it into a fence this weekend. I just needed to 3D print a few headless bench dogs. I'm really happy how it turned out, and only costs ~$16 for the extrusion (plus shipping). I used it this weekend as a backstop for some domino cuts.

I'm also planning to put a strip of 1/2" MDF on top so I can also use them as a sacrificial support for large cuts. (Thanks [member=69167]RMW[/member] for that idea :))

Dusty, is that micro-dot laminate on MDF or plywood? How do you like the surface as a work surface?

A couple weeks ago I finished a bench/assembly table with that laminate on 1" BB plywood. I am still at the point where I cringe with every scratch. I like the surface, but isn't going to remain pristine for very long...at least not in my shop.

Love the fence, by the way.

Brilliant as always, [member=67145]Dusty.Tools[/member]!

A few days ago, I ordered some 1575 from 80/20 to combine with my 15 series to imitate the new Benchdogs under-rail support kit that is a part of the new MK2 fence.  I am already all-in on 80/20 15 series extrusion, otherwise I would've bought the MK2... didn't necessarily save a ton of money.

Thanks :)

I’ve looked at Benchdogs stuff a few times but I do find their product details a little lacking. It’s hard to understand the stuff they sell....

With the UK - USD rate, now it’s good time to buy!

I own the FenceDogs with the plain fence.  I read about the MK2 version on another thread on the FOG, but I was unsure of what the differences were.  I happened to watch The Woodgrafter's video review:  and that very clearly explained what the MK2 Fence and under rail support can do.  It was enough to convince me I needed to have it!

Ralph from BenchDogs is expecting more MK2 stock sometime in May.  Ralph said he's going to add the option of just buying the MK2 Fence (for existing FenceDog owners) once the new stock arrives.

Yep, simple aluminum extrusion. Thats all it takes for a good fence.

This week I created a fancy design for the bench dog. It locks into the T-slot, making it easier to get square.

I've said it before, and I'll say it here.  Count me in for some of these dogs! :)

:)

I have the designed perfected but my printer is being a pain, I've only managed to print one so far. And I need 8 for the jig I am working on. But once that's done I'll hopefully be able to print a batch out for others.

Great work!  Are you looking to sell the printed fence dogs?  Are you willing to share the 3D print file?

I’m planning to sell printed ones but happy to share the files as well.

I’ll post them on tohttp://Thingiverse.dusty.tools tonight.

I’m also working on a 1/4-20” version for a Woodpecker track, this one is for 5/16-18” 15-series.
