I don't know if this has been posted before. This is a picture of my 1020 t-slotted extrusion I used on my mft . I mounted the protractor head on it with minor grinding of the nibs on the head. The flip stop works too.The shorter of the flip stop does not touch table.I will have to modify the longer arm. It is a 8' fence. It was about fifty dollars Canadian.

That is a great idea especially someone wanting to build a larger MFT table. Thank you for sharing.

I thought  it may  create  some interest.  I bought  it not knowing  i could modify  it to the protractor

Hi Alice,
today I received the 1020 extrusion.
I have few questions.
Will the nibs of the head after the grinding still accept the original fence?
How did you get the flip stop to fit?
is your new fence touching the table underneath?
I see in the pictures that also the additional fence stop works on your extrusion, I noticed that it doesn't fit the slot on mine, did you have to work on that too?

thank you, I know too many questions  [tongue]

Yes the original fence still works. Just grind enough on the corners to slide new fence in. As for the flip stop grinder down the nut and bolt for it to slide in. The fence sits on the table just the the original fence does without any mods. The flip stop arms I had to cut to size to work. Hopefully that helps .

the head has two nibs and two pins, the two pins are too long and keep the new fence away from the head, I need to cut them down to size, I noticed they don't do much on the original fence either so that won't be a problem.
Did you use a grinder power tool for the job?

Here are some pictures.
