MFT hooked storage tray

I did a storage tray to put screws, pens, tape measuring and other small stuff that I can hook everywhere on the MFT table. I like it most for the small parts that can easily fall through the holes when resting on the table.

Do you have other things you think would be useful to attach to the MFT table? I'm currently designing a track saw shelf using the same idea of "hooking" it.

Yeah I know about it but I want to grow my own Etsy shop with my own designs. That's why I'm asking if there are some needs among Festool users that I could solve that are not available or not well enough.

Maybe bore some 20 mm holes for table dogs in your storage tray.

Thanks for the suggestion. Do you mean at the bottom of the tray? If so, that would not defy the purpose of avoiding the little parts like screws to fall through the MFT holes? I can always add an extension to the side.

Make a rack that fits inside your tray that will hold 4 or more dogs, however many will fit the long dimension of your tray with some finger spacing between.

Make it hook over the inboard edge of the tray with a support legs that rests in the bottom of the tray. Then it can be lifted out and stand alone on top of the bench or removed to make room for other items.

No idea what the size of your tray is but here is something to illustrate what I am suggesting. I did not add anything to connect it to your tray though.

Thanks Bob. I checked and What can be done also is to create one that I can attach to the tray so the person can decide if they want it to be inside the tray or outside.

I'll print it and check how it fits.

Yeah it can be easily done. How many clamping elements pairs (clamps and stop) you think should it support?

I suppose two pair might cover most needs. Though something that just holds 1 pair would probably work for lots of people.

The only thing I hang off the side of my MFT is the track saw shelf on the right side, which folds up and goes inside the Systainer though, but for me everything must be quickly portable. Oh I also made a folding wall doohicky to go at the end of the rail to stop dust from spraying out.

Here is my design for the clamping elements holder tray to hook on the MFT. Let me know what you think. Doing it on 2 levels allows to hold 2 pairs without increasing the footprint. I'll add it to my Etsy shop later today.

I agree that it's expensive but at the same time, by having a store on Etsy, I understand why he does it. Etsy has the advantage of allowing a lot of people to discover our products but the fees are over the top. They charge so much that in this case, I don't know if it's free shipping but if it is, I guess that on the 40$ sale, around 20$ will go to Etsy fees. On top of that, if the sale has been done by an external advertisement (ex. Facebook or Google ads), they charge an additional 15% commission fees.

For example, I sold this week a small MFT drilling jig for 40$ on sale. After all the fees (I didn't have external advertisement commission fees) and shipping to pay, I had 20$ remaining without taking into account the material fees and packaging.

Its also printing time, material cost, printer maintance, electricity. all that is calculated into hourly rate.  most prints take a long time and require post clean up to remove support material, sand out the defects etc.

My experience with Etsy has been the same. Sales from outside ads will take a big chunk out of your profit.

That's why some persons are using Etsy to get known but move to other platforms like Shopify once they are more popular.

Since I have an Incra T-track instead of a Festool MFT profile on my diy bench, I had to adapt the hooks to fit. I wanted to be able to just hook them and not slide them from the end I designed this part. It works well for my tray but also for the clamping elements tray that, I just found out, also works for my quick clamps.
