Does anybody have any knowledge if the profiles from the original MFT's are in existence?  I'm trying to torun an MFT 800 into a 1080 and just need the longer 1080 profiles.

Just curious!  Thanks!

Bob

I have one of them. I had a set but one was bought as a single.

I don't recall but it was when the 1080's were still selling.

Well, if I can come across another single and you're willing to part with that one, I may search that route!

Bob

Shouldn't those side profiles be available through EKAT?  If they continue to support discontinued tools for 7 years after sunset, it seems like those profiles would be available unless an MFT isn't considered a tool.

That's what I was wondering Paul!  I guess I just don't know who to ask the question to so I threw it out here!

Would this be a question a dealer can answer? Or is it a direct Festool question?

Thanks!  B

Keep in mind that the legs from your MFT800 will not work on a 1080 -- the legs fit across the narrow ends...

I have 4 of the longer 1080 profiles, 4 corner pieces and all the nuts and bolts to assemble the frame.  But, I also think I have them sold...  I had used these for a filler table that I mounted between my two MFT1080s.  That worked great, but proved too large to keep assembled in my shop.  I had thought of using those parts and my MFT800 to create a legless MFT1080 and an elongated MFT800...  Anyway, I should know if these parts have sold in the next day or two -- if they become available, I'll let you know.

I would think that Paul-Marcel is correct, and they are available through the parts department.  However, IIRC Festool had an issue with the die for making those profiles and that is one thing that prompted the MFT/3 --  so, maybe they don't have as many spare profiles as they would normally...

Oh, I see you have posted another question as I was typing.  Either you or your dealer would need to call the parts department.

Good point, Paul-Marcel!

It's part 455242 and it is available... I had a hard disk failure yesterday and am still a bit addled.

I actually have two sets of legs from my 1080's that are attached to bases in the center of my shop so I have no problem with the legs!

If they do not sell, please let me know as I am very interested in all of those profiles if they don't sell!  I'd be able to convert two of my 800's into 1080's!!!

Please keep me informed about that situation Corwin!!!

Bob, sorry I didn't respond to your PM in a timely manner. I was on the road most of the day coming back from an impromptu weekend getaway with the family.

You need product number 455242, $53.84. We do have them in stock. You can order them directly from the service department along with any other parts you might need. Their number's below, M-F, 8a-5p ET.

Shane

Thank you very much Shane!  No worries on the pm...I realized after that I should just post it on the forum in case anybody else is considering a similar option!

I appreciate the info & will be ordering!

Bob
