Hi all,

I am in the process of designing a table that would integrate my festool's, mainly my track saw.  I've been looking at the MFT/3 (not the basic) version with the support for a rail and the protractor for straight 90 or angled cuts.  The support for the rails are interesting.

One of the criterias of the table is to include support under the top surface, so the MFT is a bit less attractive for me.  But doing cross cuts/angle cuts with the track saw and having the repeatability of the protractor is a nice feature.

So here is my main quesiton, is it possible in NA/Canada to buy the accessories of the table without buying the whole kit and if not, is there any "alternative" for the angle cuts ? For the rail support I could forgo, but the protractor function is a nice one that I would like to have in the new table.

It is possible to buy any/all of the parts from the spare parts catalog, ekat.festool.com , which is one of the things I love about festool. Beware that the catalog app is, IMHO, a bit painful. (It's my firm belief that java should be staked, beheaded, burnt, and have it's ashes scattered to the four winds so that humanity may live on in a more beautiful world, but I digress... )

You can also find the ekat link at the top of the FOG pages under "Festool Websites".

I should also add that you will fairly quickly reach a point where it will be cheaper to buy the complete MFT and just sell what you don't need to FOGsters. :)

I would also consider just using a hole matrix and parf and/or qwas dogs.

Another option and a route I have taken is to fit a mitre slot in the table and run a mitre gauge attached to a fence; the gauge can be used along the width of the table.
