Howdy,

I never was crazy about clamping a board vertically to the side of the MFT. It always seemed to require a third hand, which sadly I no longer have. So I came up with this. At least I don't recall anyone else posting something like this. Many benches have dog holes cut into the legs, these simply hang on the extrusion. The top edge sits just below the surface of the MFT so they can hang on the side and not be in the way when not in use.

Any suggestions on improving them are appreciated.

Bobberner, thanks for the idea.  Getting ready to make a bunch of drawers, and wanted to speed the clamping process for holding pieces vertically for the Domino.  Wanted a lot of adjustability.  I bought a cool dado match set from Infinity that had two neat clamps that are shaped to match a 14 degree dovetail bit.  They slide into a dovetail slot and won't pull out when clamping.  (They offer a lot of possibilities when no other clamp will do.)  I made a piece to drop into the V-groove channel using a 45 degree chamfering bit, running it on both sides so that the groove was centered,  However, this leaves a gap between the plane of the extrusion on the front of the MFT, so i had to rip a thin spacer piece to sandwich between the plywood and the groove piece.  Used my OF1400 and the rail guide to cut the dovetail channels, and the Domino against the rail to cut the mortise slots.  Used 10mm so it will be plenty strong.  Two 5/16 T-bolts used and the whole thing slides in from the side and is very stable.  Note to self: I should not have cut the top dovetail slot until I saw where the bolts/knobs would fall on the plywood.  Unless I find smaller knobs, I have to take one off to slide in the clamp(s) and then screw it back on.  I have to give many thanks to Sledge and his tip videos  I used about 8 of them today  [laughing] [laughing]

Hey fignewton, nicely done! Glad I could be inspiring. Way to take an idea and modify/improve it for your own needs.

I used some Woodpeckers Super Track which is substantial enough to hold the weight makes it continuously adjustable.

The Supertrack was drilled and countersunk for some 1/4-20 which fastens to the MFT using T-Nuts.

Took the idea from Woodpeckers Knuck Clamp Bench Kit but already had the clamps and knobs and only needed some 1/4" nylon standoffs.
