Got some questions about my MFT style cart so thought I would post here. Simple design, just a cabinet with dual locking casters on the bottom, a rabbeted frame sits on top (had to shim it up to level with my table saw/CMS), and an MFT top sits in the rabbeted top. Storage in the bottom. There is a second MFT top that can swing up (attached with hinges) to support a full sheet if needed. I have 4x4 legs with 3/4" dowels glued into the end that supports the auxiliary surface. I don't use it much though, only when breaking down a full sheet.
Works a charm, I use this one primarily with Qwas dogs and Qwas rail dogs, great for long pieces that don't quite fit nicely on my MFT/3. One downside I noticed is that dust from sawing with the track saws does tend to fall into the storage, so one would have to clean it often.

Or, if you're lazy like me, maybe not... I mean it's not like the hollow chisel mortiser that's sitting in there has seen any use after the Domino so unceremoniously replaced it....

Enjoy!

Very nice  [big grin]

I am planning to do something similar and shim up a SawStop to 35 - 7/16" as I also use MFT's.

Yep.

West Coast guys are still up with Q's  [cool]

Only thing that you could change maybe, is a torsion box type assembly for the top that has a solid bottom.  You could vacuum it clean occasionally and the storage would stay a little cleaner. [huh]

How's that Incra LS fence positioner work out for Ya ?  ?
Lovin' it... Especially given that I can share with the router table... Very helpful for both TS and Router work.

Yeah, I thought maybe just screw a piece of 1/4 ply to the bottom of the rails, since it wouldn't be structural, but I'm waiting for the perfect sized scrap piece... :)
