MFT Systainer (Not MFT Lid Systainer)

OK!

Has anyone made an MFT Systainer insert with Kazain foam and liked the end result? I need to protect the settings of the brackets and would like to have everything in the same place each time I need to set up. Hopefully, make me faster and less frustrated by the mess of my current setup that is a cardboard box.

I'm doing a FOG search and need a storage solution for the MFT fence and rail as well.

I have not made one for the mft but I have used kiazen foam a lot and like the out come. It's pretty easy to use. I make all the outside cuts on the bandsaw and use Fast caps marker and knife to do the inside work.

I have not tried Kaizen foam for anything yet.
I did some inserts with thin plywood lined with automotive carpet, since I had both laying around.
Am quite happy with the results.

Please share your progress here, I'm eager to see the results. My MFT-Stuff is currently residing in a Systainer, bubble-wrapped...

My latest thought (Yes, I lie awake thinking of this crap at night) is a mobile cart like I built for our CMS setup.

We use two MFT/3's that I'm trying not to trash and a bakers rake is what we built for the CMS setup. Like in this link but in wood.

So, my thinking is to build a rack and it would except two MFT's and the rail, fence, and brackets etc. hanging off it.

I have done the same, thanks mostly to Seth. Kaizen is not easy to master and I think it is overpriced for what it is.
I do like the Systainer inserts I got from Kaizeninserts.com but again price? They are computer cut and depending on the thickness, are at the very edge of the box for whatever thickness you order.

If you look for Systainer inserts, I'd rather go with the two-color foam versions you can find on eBay etc.

They have a black top layer and colored base foam. In Germany they are cheaper that the kaizen foam inlays, from what I've seen.
You get these pre-cut for systainer size and are able to route out the cut-outs with your plunge router.

But I also have not tried these... [embarassed]

Checked Ebay but did not see the two color foam inserts. I did see some cool custom wood ones that I like. [big grin]
