Mft3 and router table

My neighbor has the mft3 and cms-ge and wants to know if the can attach to each other? The catalog says they are the same height.

Welcome to the forum. No, they cannot be joined. The profiles do not align properly.

You can only attach the MFT/3-VL to the MFT/3 and use it as a router table because it has the same profile and only has two legs so that it doesn't interfere with the MFT/3 legs.
But I think it's sold in the USA together only with the router set CMS-OF as CMS VL Basic or Set.

If it's that much of an issue, your neighbor could make a pair of custom clamping brackets to join the CMS-GE to the MFT/3.  Pretty straightforward project.

I've thought about using the precision plate for Incra positioner http://festoolownersgroup.com/festool-jigs-tool-enhancements/it's-finally-here-the-precision-plate-for-incra-positioners!!/msg310719/#msg310719   on the MFT/3 and linking the mft to the router table using some variation of 8020 (http://festoolownersgroup.com/festool-jigs-tool-enhancements/more-fun-with-8020/msg284260/#msg284260) or some custom woodwork as suggested above.

I'm sure others have been down this road. If so, please let us know how it works...
