Hello,
Does anyone know the purpose of the "strips" in this drawing for attaching the drawer slides?  I am curious why the slides would not just be attached to the cabinet walls.  Is there a specific purpose for these "strips"?  (I emailed the person who published these plans but have not heard back.)  Thanks.

Is there a case frame on it? If so the spacer will put the draw slides in the correct position.

I think it's to attach the drawer slides. It's the same as the "2 3/8" x 1/2" x 25" strips (attach drawer slides)" from what I can tell.

It is because of the 1 3/4" face frame shown on page 6.  Without the face frame, the drawer slides could be attached direct to the plywood but the drawers would need to be wider.
