I have a project coming up using 1/2" (12mm) ply. I need to make a mid board "carcase butt joint" as listed in Rick's supplemental manual. However, if I follow the normal method which references off of the bottom of the Domino, the mortise will be centered 10mm from one end, and this does not seem reasonable.

I thought there was some other trick to make this joint with 1/2" ply without detailed measuring but I can't find it. Any hints?  Remember that the domiplate will not work here because I am going into the middle of the face of one of the boards.

This may help. It is 12mm ply.

A little info about the fence scale I missed in the first video

I shot the videos because someone else was having an issue. Do a search it's here somewhere, about 3 pages of info.

I did 260 of these cuts last night.

I discovered doing these videos not to shoot with an iPhone in landscape. Really distorts the images.

I just posted about this but for the 700-XL.

Paul Marcel has a crib sheet video that you should also check out. Very simple approach for the 500 users. It is video #71 in his series on halfinch shy.com

It is the first part of the video about mid panel tenons.

Cheers. Bryan.

Thanks, Tom. I think it was you 6/10 domino combination that i remembered. Still not foolproof since it relies on one 6/10 mm offset on placing the line, and a second offset on the fence of 6mm.
