Midi and Mini CFM on Amazon

Amazon lists both the Mini and the Midi as 99 CFM.  I understand they are currently 137cfm.  Is Amazon's description old, or are they selling old models?

I have also heard that if you change out the hose to a larger diameter, it will give more suction than the supplied 1", is that correct, and do you have a larger anti static hose available?  If so, would it fit in the holder?

Thanks.

The descriptions on Amazon are dated, all models are 137 CFM.

A 36mm hose will offer better dust collection for tools that produce a lot of dust. You can use that hose with the Mini and Midi units. However that hose will not work with sanders, jigsaws and some other tools.

Yes, the u[dates models are 137 cfm.  I cannot comment on whether amazon is selling old stock or just has old descriptions.

There are larger diameter hoses.  I have all hoses (and other vac accessories) listed here.

The 36mm hose will not coil into the midi or mini hose garage, but it is compatible in terms of usage.  They do give better air flow due to the lower internal resistance to air flow.

Edit:  Looks like Shane beat me to the answers.

Thank you both for the information.

If I got the 50mm / 4m hose, would I need a reducer to use on accessories such as the small crevice tool, or for a water collection accessory?

Would it fit in any model hose garage?

Can I connect 2 of them together, and would they fit in any garage?

Currently I'm less concerned about wood working uses and more for cleaning the attic of fine, nasty dust, car detailing and water collection.

Ken, your prices look competitive, but I'm guessing the shipping from NJ to So Cal would be a consideration.

50 mm hoses are likely overkill for what you describe. There are some cleaning considerations where they could be handy but a 36mm hose is likely perfectly adequate. Most of the cleaning kits come with 36mm hoses and they allow a lot more flow than the 27mm hoses. The 27mm hoses are constricting the CT's a lot, which is OK for sanding, small routing, etc.

A 36 mm hose doesn't really fit well in any of the hose garages, though it can be stuffed in with the ends hanging out. A 50mm hose would not be at all friendly there.

You can join any two Festool hoses and the normal method involves joining two 50mm ends with a sleeve (493047), especially, if you want an antistatic connection. The CT end of all hoses are 50mm fittings.

Here's a little video I did a long time ago with a CT 22, Turbo Suction Brush, a green AS 27mm hose, and a Gray non-AS 36mm hose.

The Turbo Suction Brush is driven by the suction. If you turn up your sound, you'll hear a profound difference in the airflow.

Festool CT w/ 27 mm or 36 mm hose

EDIT:
Added "36mm" to "Gray non-AS hose"

The new midi has a larger hose garage and a larger hose, not sure when you get it in the states though..

Don't you know, all the good stuff is NAINA  [dead horse]

Thank you all for the great information and advice!!!

Researching is 75% of the fun.  Buying is 15%, the rest is using it.

But.... Argggggghh!  I hate to learn there is something better coming, especially if there is no date.  I like the soundof the 36mm hose, but the integrated storage is part of what sold me on Festool.

Any chance there will be a retrofit?  I will not be able to wait.
