HD is selling the 12" Milwaukee sliding CMS for $299, put it on a HD cc and there's no payment/interest for 6 months too.  Normal price was somewhere in the $600-$700 range.

Steve,

While the City of Milwaukee is as American as Laverne & Shirley, the tools are not.  I'm not sure about this SCMS but in looking through McFeeley's catalog it appears that almost all Milwaukee tools are now made in China, including their famous Sawzall.

Yuk!

Hi,

Do you know if that price is region specific?  I've called the local Home Depot's in MD and they are still at $549.  ?javascript:void(0)??

Another web site has people from MN, S Cal, NY who have the same sale prices.  A couple of stores have said the sale doesn't start until tomorrow.  I would check back tomorrow and press them if you get any resistance.

Got it!  Last one in the area according to the guy there.  Wanted a Kapex but for $1,000 savings....hmmm - maybe the  T15 with the saved $$.

Does the green slide ever end?  [laughing]

[thanks]

Bought one about three weeks ago at $549 with a free Ridgid MSUV.  Haven't used it much due to the holidays and very heavy obligations at work and home.  That said, I used it for a project that required very high precision (cutting a replacement for a spline that was mitered and beveled to fit a "tapered and dovetailed" slot in a TV mounting bracket) and I was able to make a perfectly-mating part in one try, no test cuts necessary.  Dust collection with the optional adapter that connects it to a "shop vac" is excellent.  (I've got an old CT11 mated to a Dust Deputy.)  I haven't attempted to measure the dust collection, but just eyeballing it, it looks to be as good as my Festool ATF55 plunge saw.  The lights are great.  I've never used a Kapex, so can't compare the two.  Hope this helps somewhat in case anyone reading this thread is undecided.

Regards,

John

John,

Take your receipt back to HD and they will refund you the difference. Here in Utah we have 18 Home Depot stores along the Wasatch Front. Yesterday I picked up 2-Rigid 4511 table saws and 2 Milwaukee 6955 12" sliders. I found out my HD account had been closed from disuse, so I opened a new account whereupon they gave me an additional 10% off, a free Husky screwdriver set and entry to a drawing for a new smoker. I told 'em to go ahead and load it up 'cause with the luck I was having, I was sure to win it.

While I was there 2 people brought in receipts for purchased items that had gone on clearance. HD has a 30 day price protection and they honored it.

I checked 3 Home Depot stores yesterday and the Milwaukee sliders were already sold out.  I guess I'll have to settle for a Kapex ;).  (I just have to talk the wife into it  [sad])

Tom.

Buy first, talk her into it later.

Kind of like shoot first, ask questions later.

It is easier to beg forgiveness than to seek permission  [oops]
