Milwaukee Airless/Fine Finish Paint Sprayer Hub Model # M4910-20

I bought one but haven't had a chance to use it yet. This past weekend was the first I've gotten back to work outside due to unusual weather and other pressing matters.

I have some painting to do and will get to it soon, hopefully. I'll post my impressions as soon as I try the thing.

It appears to be pretty well made. The proof is in the performance...

So I got it.
Loved it all the way through assembly--really beefy cart, nicest wheels I've seen in a while, clever accessory bag...
Got to the gun and the doubts arose. It's crap. Milwaukee is so full of it for claiming it's a $700 dollar value. I've seen better guns in Harbor Freight. It's all chromed brass and PAINTED aluminum. The tips they provide are of dubious quality. The tip guard is too small and tight to the nozzle. The hvlp hose is just super cheap plastic with plastic connectors.
The thing only has controls for the pump, with no control for the turbine.
To prime the pump and get material to the gun, you have spent nearly a half gallon, so good luck with shooting the good stuff (and the cleanup).
So, to the spraying (in hvlp)--lame. Just can't atomize and the pattern is inconsistent. Playing with the only control (pump) yielded unsatisfactory results in both directions. Then it sputters. The pump kicking in and out varies the quality of the spray a great deal as you spray.
The only way to get a decent and consistent pattern is to run the pump way higher than recommended, but then the material is coming out WAY more than you can handle, at least for waterbourne clear...
So, back to the Home Depot it goes.
Probably would do well spraying 5 gallons of exterior latex at a time.
I'm curious if anyone here got theirs going any better.
Also, wondering if there is such a thing as a tip smaller than .010, as it seems that might make a world of difference.

morogue,

Thanks for the update. I almost got one too but when I read that it was just rebranded Ryobi I thought I be better off to keep looking

Were you able to use the extra 100.00 coupon?

Kim

There is no $100 coupon, it was a rebate and it ended.
I did waste a $25 Lowes coupon on the purchase, though. That stung. The HD was cool though, and offered to give me a $25 credit if I had something to purchase that evening. I was so bummed, I didn't even take them up on it.
I looked at the new Husky "pro" hvlp guns that run ~$95, but from what I hear they are just Campbell Hausefeld... Have heard a wide spectrum of opinions on them. For a little more, you can get into a real name brand like Asturo or Devibiss, which is probably the direction I'm heading.

I just purchased the Airless/Finish Paint Sprayer M4910-20 yesterday to paint the stucco with Electromeric paint, which they said it would not do.  It did it with no issues.  Awesome machine.  Got it for $379.00 at home depot.  Its big and powerful and works perfectly!

It seems to be impossible to get parts for the spray gun.(Perhaps other parts too). They do not have any listing in their parts catalog. I just spent 2 hours trying, with the usual waits, etc. They try to shuffle you back and forth between tech support and parts. If anyone has any positive experiences please let me know.
