Milwaukee M18 Plunge router

I have the M18 router but not the plunge base.
I like the Milwaukee cordless router better than the equivalent Makita.
The Makita’s rack and pinion depth adjustment is frustrating.
The Milwaukee depth adjustment via threaded rod is far superior.
The Milwaukee also seems to be a better value, especially now (BLACK Fridaymonth).
You can get the basic router and two 5 amp batteries (and charger) for $199 at HD.
I like the Milwaukee cordless router better than the equivalent Makita.

If you have enough batteries and chargers, it is possible to get the router for $99.50 at the Home Depot.
The buy the 5.0 battery starter kit and get a free tool puts the tool and batteries in the cart and gives them each a separate entry and sku, as a result it prorates the return value of each tool. This is to prevent people from buying the starter kit and the free tool and then returning the starter kit for the full value and keeping the free tool.
Easiest if you have a nearby HD with stock is go to the store grab a starter pack and the router. Pay. Exit the store, stop by your vehicle and drop off the router. Go back inside to the service desk and return the starter kit.
Works without hassle.

I recently pick up a fix base two months ago and liked it so much I picked up another one Black Friday deal at HD. I figured I just leave a round over bit in one and change bits in the other.
I know your asking about the plunge base. I’m looking to add that soon.I really like the router.
I starting to fill in the voids with Milwaukee.
I have light, small blower to blow off the tools before returning the tools to the truck, and the twins routers.
Looking to pick up the cordless plane real soon.

I’ve had the router for a couple years and the plunge base since spring.
Have not used the plunge a ton but it’s very smooth and depth fine adjust suits my needs very well. I like it better than my other routers but have a limited selection of 1/4” bits and end up using the other machines more for this reason.
(Might need to buy more bits for it, it’s a really nice setup)

We must think alike. One with a 3/8" round-over bit. One with a 1/2" mortise bit and 5/8" template guide.
Sometimes I need to make a quick template onsite and was looking at the plunge base.
Just hard to get real answers with all the fake info these days.

I also like the light these routers have in them.
I started to somewhat look for plung base only but haven’t found one yet. I’ve only tried to look just a small bit.
I also just made a router insert for the fix base to nest in the skilsaw job site saw I use onsite.
It fits in the opening when you extends the table to the right for wide rips
