Milwaukee seems to have Festool in the crosshairs. First, the installation driver which they seemed to model after the CXS drill.  Now Milwaukee is releasing a handheld 12v rover light which might give the Syslight KAL II Worklamp some competition.

Given the cost, access to all the tools in the Milwaukee 12V line, and some additional features which the Syslight does not have, it might be a worthwhile investment for those on the 12V platform.  I have tried to find out the lumen output for the Syslight, but could not locate it.  At 700 lumens of the Trueview lighting, I expect the Milwaukee output will meet or exceed the Syslight.  As I am on both the Festool (have a Syslight) and the Milwaukee platforms, I am sure I will end up with one.    [big grin]

I do enjoy seeing a more approachable brand taking on a couple festool originals. Milwaukee has a very vast and highly respected lighting lineup. I have a couple flashlights, flood lights and tower light from them. All work great no issues.

One thing that can’t be ignored in the quality department is based on the amount of Milwaukee tools I used I have a decent failure rate with one component or another. I do wish they would spend some more on manufacturing up front for higher quality parts and electronics. I own maybe 35 some tools from them and have sent in around 8 I would guess.

The KAL II 2nd Gen Syslite was rated at 310 & 769 lumens. The 1st Gen was slightly less than that.

The pivoting light head on the Milwaukee is real nice as is the price.  [smile]

I use the KAL 100 & the KAL II with batteries attached but that becomes quite a bulky package.  [mad]

Here's a comparison of a 5 year old KAL II and an early 3 year old Milwaukee Rover which was around 350-400 lumen.

[member=44099]Cheese[/member] those are actually pretty nice lights. Where I’m at Rural King sells them. I have two hanging in my enclosed cargo trailer. Great source of light when it gets dark. Runs on AAs.

Thanks for the input Ron...good to know.  [smile]  Is it a pretty wide coverage? Can you compare it relative to a KAL 100/II?

Weird that the cost of batteries is more than the light itself.

No way to compare since I don’t have a KAL.

BUT I have a small 5x8 trailer and have 2 zip tied to a roof support about 5 feet from the front. They hug the wall on each side or I hit my head on them  [big grin]

Here’s one on

Here’s both

And it’s very dark outside.  [eek]
