Another thread has prompted me to ask the question:  Do you own a / some mini systainers?  If so - how do you use them?  If not - why not?

Peter

I keep some inside other systainers. My trim gun sys4 has my finish guns and a mini sys with brad, pin nails and Allen keys. The others just have random small stuff in them. When I first got them I didn't know what to do with them but with all the small stuff you'll fill it up quick.

I havent gotten any yet because I haven't seen (read: been able to touch) any yet. Having a hard time visualizing how I would use them.

I have 2 of them and purchased a couple different inserts. Been a bad boy as I still have not found the perfect use for them. The idea of storing boxes of brads is a great idea and will try fitting them in this weekend.

I have 6 IIRC.  But several of them are Tanos Mini-Sys IIs.  The extra height is worth it.

One Mini-SysII is my first aid kit.  I put red mini-latches on it.

I have two Anthracite (dark gray) Mini-Sys IIs.  I use those for just miscellaneous purposes.  Sometimes they hold my nicer measuring items if I'm taking them somewhere out of my shop.  Sometimes they just hold misc junk when I clean up.

I have a lovely carmine red Mini-Sys, which is my daughter's tool kit.  (Thanks again Sean!!)

And I have two actual Festool Mini-Sys which house a 9mm each, using the pick & pluck foam.  These I transport in a Sys1, with a Sys2 underneath for accessories.  The locking latches add a little security to the equation when going to and fro.

I swear I have one more Festool mini-sys floating around somewhere... I should look.

i dont have any yet. i have plans for storing my tool set up tools (dial gauge etc). i plan to put some in a normal systainer holding screws etc. i can see my self owning  a dozen or so .

Don't have any currently, thought about them but never figured out what to use them for. Never knew they made a sysII version, might have to rethink my options.

Ed

I have two at this point I set them up with my gauges and dial Indicators for doing setups on my table saws and shapers.
I have found them great for this purpose, I used pick and pluck foam to hold everyting in place

Brilliant!
I loath those boxes the brads and pin nails come in, particularly the 23g.
Damn things fall apart and they are all over the place just when you getting packed up and are ready to go home.

I have one mini systainer that holds the sanding pads. It's a bit of a orphan at this point, I will have to get it some siblings.

Tim

I keep my set of sanding drums & sleeves in one, and have not decided what to store in the second one yet.

I use a mini-sys for storing collets & bits in - fits in to the OF1400 sys.

I'd really like a mini FOGtainer though!

Yup, brads here again.

One with stainless steel brads for hardwood work, and another for other 15g, 18g, and 23g brads.

Prompted by a similar situation you describe Tim!! :o

I don't own any, because I don't like the fact that they don't stack with the standard systainers. I'm thinking of getting one anyway, to store some office supplies like an A5 notebook, pens etc. I always seem to loose this stuff......

Sofar I only have one, I got it together with my mfs to store the loose parts. But I'll probably have another one soon because I'm thinking of getting a protool (non centrotec) zobo drill set. (the centrotec ones don't come in the sizes I need, and they have a deal on the normal ones now)

I have 3 or 4. I'd have to go check, don't use them often. They are all filled with specialty items. 1 has phone line testers in it, 1 has small chisels for fine work, the other has misc small festool parts, I think there's one more.
I REALLY like these even though they don't get accessed much. Very convenient and handy. I will probably buy more at some point.
- An empty 3 package set promo would be nice
- another green one like the hand sanders but with something else would be good
- Cap and bit box; apron again, mini with polishing pads and the oil stuff; etc

I would like to get some, but like most, didn't know what I would do with them.  Then the new systainers came out.  I really should be buying those instead.  Which leads me to ask,  are the minis going to go through the same transformation as the regular systainers?

I have three. One I use as a little first aid box (kept near my chisels...) one I keep biscuits in (haven't got the Domino yet, I'm afraid...). Third one keeps small festool bits and pieces in (spare catches for systainers, etc). I love those cute little guys!
