Did anyone notice that the new catalog doesn't give you the option of buying the Kapex extension rails? Hopefully I am not that oblivious cause I've been through the catalog twice now.

There has been some discussion elsewhere on FOG speculating that these may not be released in the US, since all the displaying dealers at JLC live were showing the Kapex with the Sawhelper extensions, NOT the Festool ones.

Perhaps Festool realised that, with the other offerings available, they wouldn't be able to compete.

Perhaps if you really wanted the Kapex Rails you could order them from a
non-US dealer?

Hi,

I noticed them missing also.  With out knowing much about them - it seems that not having them available takes away a little bit from the system approach. Especially if they connect some how to the MFT-Kapex.

Guess I should look into buying some sawhelpers then...I think I saw a how-to somewhere in here on how to use them on the Kapex. Time to go searching.

Looks like we have to wait for Sawhelper to release their V-groove model as well as the Kapex.  Let's just hope they synchronize their watches.

I'm pretty sure they will.

The Festool rails that fit in the v-groove won't work if you use a saw helper setup anyway.  You can't have 2 things in the groove and protruding side to side at the same time.

Chris...

I must say after reading Tom G's write up I am very much looking forward to seeing what Festool and Sawhelper  come up with for the Kapex.  :D 8) Fred

Why are they not going to be available is what I want to know. After all they sell us this stuff as a system, and then don't provide the system. How about it Christian!

Don't get me wrong I love Festool and sell it to every contractor I run into, I should have got a dealership for the amount I have sold to people via local dealers. But come on!
