It seems like Bessey are busy again with some "mega deals" announced on their UK web site:

http://www.besseytools.co.uk/

It seems to be Klik Klamps, Uni Klamps and U style bar clamps. Is this just the UK or are they pushing elsewhere?

Has anyone tried the Bessey lever clamps with the red handle that fit the Festool track? I saw some recently and I can't remember where and if they really do fit I might give them a try.

I have four of the klick clamps, 6" or 8" I believe.  Bought them at one of the big home improvement stores for half price.  I really like them.

I have 4 of them and they are brilliant for delicate stuff when you want things held but not squished.

Certainly has a familiar look to it - so, does it or doesn't it? ? ? ? ? ? ?

I''m waiting for a sale on lonnnnngggg Revo's!  I have most of the others, including a ton of Bessey's Chinese-made clamps which are NOT as nice as their not-Chinese products.

How do you tell which Bessey clamps are Chinese made?  I have some Revos and four 90 degree Angle Clamps and they seem pretty nice to my untrained eye.

The label clearly says where they are made. Of course, the label hits the trash before you find a place for the clamps in your rack. I believe from the 100 or so Bessey clamps I've bought in the last couple years that all the ones made in Germany have "Germany" cast or stamped into the clamp. Not sure about ones made 10 years ago.

K-Body Revo I believe are made in China but they are fairly nice. Not nearly as nice as the Gross Stabil, who designed that clamp before Bessey bought Gross Stabil. Not nearly as nice as the K-Body clamps before the Revo but that is more a preference for lighter weight. The current Revos seem excellent for the price, made in China or not, I'm actually not sure.

If you want to see mediocre, look at the Chinese Bessey 4 piece F-clamps HD was selling at Christmas time for $19.95. They are OK, but not great. Harbor Freight sells crap of the same type for even less and some people think they are OK.

Let me put it this way: There was an ad for used German made Bessey K-Body clamps in a huge quantity on a forum for more than list price of new K-Body Revos. While several people expressed shock at the high price, a couple knowledgeable buyers bought ALL of them.

Here's a liquidater of discountinued tools selling a German made Gross Stabil for $52.50: http://store.harryepstein.com/cp/GrossStabil/GZH4-5-16.html

Only going to find a knowledgeable buyer that knows the difference.

Greg, many thanks for the detailed explanation.  After a little digging, I found the information.  The WS-3 Angle Clamp is made in China.  The K Body Revos were assembled in the USA from imported components.  I'm guessing that means the parts were manufactured in China.  The clamps work well for me, but I don't have the German manufactured ones for a comparison.

I got an exceptionally good deal at the Midlands Woodworking Show in Newark at the end of March (19% cheaper than the buy 4 promotional offer at D and M).

They were been sold by Gedore UK and the rep informed me that they do three shows a year where they have 'Specials' unfortunately he did not know which Shows they would be attending.

I would keep an eye out for them if you after a great deal on Bessey kit.

Bessey were supposed to be at Toolfair in Exeter, was one of the reasons I went there, but I didn't see them. Perhaps I wasn't looking for the right people.

I'm thinking of getting 12 of the kliklamps. Got the email a week ago, I could have done with more clamps today for gluing edging on my fake mft table.

You will find Bessey at the D&M Show at Kempton Park in the second week of October 2015. I go there every year and buy one or two bits and pieces - the prices are usually really good. Other exhibitors offer good discounts at the show and I usually manage to cover my fuel costs in savings - even if it is just by buying 20 litres of PVA !

Festool always have an excellent presence and they get pretty busy.
