More scribing to brick.

Well, the clients liked the job we did in the main house so much, they wanted us to do the pool house kitchen as well. (Peter, I deleted the old post accidentally...a little help?)

The structure is so old that every morning, there would be mortar crumbs on the counters and the shelves!  Easily seen in the las picture.  Hanging the shelves in the brick was pretty easy.  The brick was so soft I used my c12, no need for a hammer drill.

Crazy good. There's nothing like the RAS for this kinda stuff. Love mine but thankful I don't have your brick challenges!

Thanks Ron.  Got the process down pat, coul probably do it it my sleep now.  The ras makes it so easy!

Jon: looks great! They definitely found the right guy for all the cabinet installs here and in the main house.
Thanks for taking all those pictures. Did you use your iPhone?
Is that green painters tape you use to mark the scribe line to?
What grit paper are you using on the RAS?
I like the RAS for scribing too, but I take a majority of the material off with a jig saw and then clean up with the RAS.

Erock,  I just use a simple compass scribe.  The trick is to take off no more than 1/4- 3/8" at any time.  Any more and your scribes can get out of whack (not perfectly perpendicular).  Usually takes 3-4 attempts.  Had to take off over an inch since one of the bricks face had broken off.

Tim, yes it is green painters tape.  Much easier to see the line than with blue tape.  Didn't need it in the main kitchen since the cabinets were a lighter color.  I think I use 30 grit with the hard pad, super aggressive but still easy to control.  Used my iPhone 4S for the pics.
