Morrels spray stain woes.

I  purchased  some Morrels  (spray on)  oak  stain. I selected    the colour  from  about  30 samples  and it  looked just right  for what I want.
A darkish  colour  with an antique  look.

I've tried a sample  and the colour  is coming out  with a high degree  of a red  tint. Completely not what I want.
Its just not doing what it says on the tin. I've shook the tin vigorously  to make sure its mixed.
I've lacquered  the sample  also  and no joy.

There were colours  like it on the sample  collection. Which I just by passed.
I'm taking the product  back to these specialists  this Monday  to see what the problem is. I've another week  to finish  this piece.
I'm guessing  they'll just  make some excuses.

Any help would be appreciated.
I might  go with a hand finish  in the mean time  but not sure what to use. Just worried  I'll get this wrong as its for  a Church  refurbish  opening ceremony  Sunday week.

The  product  is..
Dark Oak Classique Base Stain - 134/0011B

Problem solved.
Product  was not mixed properly. It was  supposed to go through an agitating  machine but  someone forgot.
Happy Days.  [big grin]

Appreciate your follow up post Lbob131.
Had pondered on your problem; but decided couldn’t write anything useful.
Just curious.
Was it just your container, or was a batch affected?
If just your container – presumably ‘solids’ had settled firmly at the bottom??
Were they supposed to have agitated it, immediately before purchase or what?

Part reason I ask is, that in the past, had thought about getting a vibrating plate for agitating paint; rather just shaking / stirring paints in container.

Glad you got it sorted.

It was just a single 5 litre  tin I wanted.
They  stock a huge amount  of morrels  products.
And they  have a  mixing room also  where  all the agitating machines  are  located.

They took me into their  mixing  room to show  me the agitating process.
I'm pretty sure  the  lad  just lifted  my product  off the shelf  and gave it to me.  One of the more experienced guys  said  he would be reprimanded.
A kick in the back  side  tbh.  [big grin]

There was an experienced guy  in the place luckily and he really knew his stuff. I thought my vigorous arm shaking  would have done the job. But not a chance.
