Any ideas on how to attach foam board to 80/20 extrusions? Was planning to make table for breaking down plywood. Frame of 80/20, which attaches to steel sawhorses. On top would be 2" foam board.

I can't have any fasteners going through to top of foam board as they might be hit by the saw blade.

Currently I do something similar with just some 6 inch wide plywood strips laying across the sawhorses. Foam board moves all over the place.

Was planning the 80/20 table for rigidity, but would like to keep the foam board located in the same spot.

Thanks,

Zip ties.  The black colored ones are UV resistant and have a much longer utility.

Just poke holes wit an awl and attach to the structure. If you cut through one, just replace it.

I once built an entire rolling cart using peg board panels and zip ties for the outer structure. Though the shelves were made from plywood.  With some thought as to where to place the zip ties, you can come up with a surprisingly robust structure.

if you need to be able to put this away in between jobs and the problem is just things sliding, how about just gluing some strips of foam (or scrap wood) on the bottom of the foam on either side of where each saw horse would sit.. just something to register the foam on top of the supports in the right place.

Simple, effective and easy. Just make sure to use an adhesive specifically formulated for foam adhesion...PL 300 comes to mind.  [smile]

Are you looking to do something like the Ruwi Support rail with anti-slip covering? I replicated them with plywood and weather stripping door seal strip here.

Both great ideas. I think just a couple attached pieces to register it.

I would like to be able to store when not in use.

I need to look further into the Ruwi support rail.

Thanks for the tips.
