So I have had this for a  while and though I have mentioned it in a couple  I don't think I posted any pictures yet.  The  Tanos insert is too tall for a Sys - I and doesn't use all the space in a Sys - II.  A customized foam insert would allow  the MM to fit in a Sys - I,  but I went for the Sys- III  so that two inserts can be stacked  allowing  more room for accessories , and more sorting spaces.  I don't have a lot in it right now but I expect to be adding more blades and such as time goes on.  Orange Sys (couldn't resist) black latches , anthracite handle.

Very cool...didn't realize tanos makes orange....that systainers got swagger!!!  I traded the tile guy on a job, all my fein scraping/grout cutting & that rough gold triangle blade thing , for all his wood cutting blades. We were both happy.just thought I'd share that

Nice trade.

It was a BTI branded systainer. I used some PVC cleaner to remove the black BTI logo. The original latches were a medium gray color, that would fall in between the regular light gray and anthracite colors. Those latches went onto red systainers with my Milwaukee tools in them.

Seth -

Thank you so much for posting this one.  I was just looking for something so similar.  any chance you could post the links to where you bought the inserts, systainer and latches?  I am in RI, USA FWIW.

I went with the sale woodcraft was having on the Multimaster sys2 set, and went ahead and threw in a orange catch just to trick it out a little bit [big grin]

Did they discontinue the 8 compartment tray you used? I can't seem to find it on LeeValley or Woodcraft.

Lee Valley shows the tray......   letter 'C' on this page.

http://www.leevalley.com/US/wood/page.aspx?p=64656&cat=1,43326,64664,64656

Edit. ooops looks like it is not available, no shopping cart symbol next to it.  But the five compartment tray would work the same way.  Also note the ones on that Lee Valley page are for Classic Systainers.

See about half way down this page for a new type with adjustable dividers for T-Locs.  http://www.woodcraft.com/search2/search.aspx?query=Tanos&pagesize=120

Seth, either your tools photograph/model really well, or that Fein MM is still in fairly pristine condition.. [wink]

Fairly pristine.  It hasn't seen much use yet.

Cool idea Seth!

Here's an odd thing I (think) discovered: If you leave the waxy/rubber coating that comes on the end of the multimaster blades - it melts through the tray! Either that or I left it in my trunk on too many hot North Carolina days - but only the blades with the coating still on them melted through. Anybody else notice this?

Really awesome set up Seth,

man I need to work something like this out for my MM

Super cool and i love the colour combi.
What is pvc cleaner. Do you have a chemical name for it.?
Nice job seth

The PVC cleaner is basically a bunch of  chemicals. It is made to thoroughly clean PVC pipe before cementing it together.  Ketone, Acetone, Methly something or other........

That is pretty nutty .......   the blade coating melting through the tray. I better check mine and remove the coating.

That is way cool, Seth. Makes w me want to go buy some new systainers!

Yeah I had that with some ts55 spare blades, I had them sharpened and they came back with the protection on them. I put them in the systainer and exactly the same thing happened. They melted right through the insert.

Seth,
It looks soooo clean. Do you use it or is it for display ppurposes ?
