Hi anyone got a Mungo systainer they are a brand of fixing that use systainers for storage. I was about to buy a Festool sys 4 for gbp38 (good price) then saw these Mungo ones for gbp29 on the same site but have been told they dont have the plastic re-inforcing bar across the hinge pins like the Festool ones anyone know anything about this ?. I have been after a Makita sys4 for ages know but the prices are stupid I want one to put my Makita drills in but so far gbp60 is the cheapest I have seen them.

The Tanos branded Systainers I've gotten didn't have the hinge pin either.  I use a Tanos Sys 4 as my tool tote, and it is heavy sometimes (estimate 35-45 lbs). Haven't had any issues without a reinforcement bar.  I also have a Sys2 I haul around really heavy stuff in, and again no issues without the bar.

You can purchase Systainer replacement parts, so if the hinge bar is the deal breaker...
It is part #446251, and on the FestoolUSA site, at least, is listed with a price of $1.87 each.  It will be light grey, however.

Hello joiner
I have never seen a makita systainer were they sold with a specific insert or were the tools just loose? embossed with makita on the outside?

well I have been buying makita for years and have never seen one before I could use some of those [cool] I have some of the old metal boxes a hamered silver finish with red logo soooooo heavy

Lots of Makitas come in systainers these days. Bosch, Metabo, Makita, Panasonic, they've all embraced systainers these days.

Didn't realise Panasonic are using systainers also.  Their drills must be second to Festool.  I have 2 & they must be about 15 years old & still going although the battery's don't last long now.  When my C15 arrives in 10 days, one of the Pannys will have to hit the bin.

Maybe you get Systainers where you are, but NOT getting them here in the USA. Festool yes, Bosch and Makita NO.

Do you mean that guy on eBay that is selling festools at ridiculously inflated prices and he has put hafele on most of his items ? He is NOT hafele they sell Festools at the same price as most other dealers.

I spotted him, too. historically, Hafele used to sell Festool at prices above all the other dealers. He seems to take the (already inflated) Hafele price and then add more! He's been doing it for a while now. either he's VERY persistent, or some poor fool must be paying his rediculous prices. I really hope it's not the latter.

Here's an example of some of the 'bargains' he's currently offering:

GBP89 for a sys5 - empty;
GBP170 for a sys4 with the wooden tool holder insert;
GBP75 for a sys1 with diced foam;
and lastly, a (presumably 2009) Centrotec set in systainer - GBP286!!!!

Its exactly the same as the Festool systainers apart from the reinforcing bar at the top rear as said by other posters, now I just have to find the best way to arrange all my drills chargers etc and make an insert for it all..
