Built two of these, mahogany veneer plywood with edgebanding.  Just finished knocking them down to ship to Puerto Rico, where I will be in a week to install them after taking a morning dip in the ocean.

By the way, I hate chinese plywood.  Low-quality junk.  Finish veneer chips off.  Voids make it impossible to use for structure.  Looks good, but I had to treat it all with silk gloves.  Fortunately, found a place today that sells plywood made in the USA and will apply veneer and/or finish on one or both sides very close to the house.  Not terribly expensive... I'll be back.

Real Nice,  I like the use of the Mahogany Ply...  Break them down and off to Puerto Rico, Damn what a nice brother you are

As for china brand ply, I have two piece's sitting in the garage that have totally delamed and need to go back to Home dopey this week, this stuff is real bad,

yep most Chinese ply sucks but there are some that are not bad... I always buy the american ply for a double cab like I build it only adds about 150 bucks more or less to the cost but is much better.

have fun in pr !  once you take a dip in the ocean you will probably hang out to check out the beach babes !  so you will have to work at night !

I have used chinese ply a few times and I know one thing about it... it is all sh*t!  Gonna catch me some tasty waves on the Island to forget about the chinese plywood.  Boing.

How can you know it is from china... what marks should I look for?

Cheers,
Steve

Price is a big give away.  USA stuff is stamped on edges.  $25-35$. Is usually china.

How did you mount those to the wall or is magic holding them up [eek]?

Cheers,
Steve

Two french  cleats glued and screwed to all structural members and backboard. Sure hope it dont fall.

Looks good!
What kind of knock down hardware (if any) did you use or did you just use hidden pocket hole screws?
Tim

Before final instal the whole thing was held together with pocket and black screws. For final install just added glue.

Funny thing,.. @ my local HomeDepot it is actually hard to find Chinese plywood. On the rare occasions that I do, it is usually better than the American stuff that they stock. Neither is particularly good!

My guess is sheetrock screws - black in color.

Peter

Yeah, the black screws are the sheet rock screws, as compared to the blue ones, which are the tapcons.  Puertorricans go by the simplest descriptor.

I have encountered the chinese plywood before and it has significant voids which are not obvious.  It can be beautiful and less expensive, but not particularly good for structural pieces, as the voids are unpredictable.  I would use it for paneling without a problem, but for structural pieces, I'll go american (brazilian is also good).
