Hello guys,

So I built my kitchen cabinets.  The wife and I went to Lowe's and bought our LG solid surface counter tops.  And the guys showed up today to install them.

One of the first things they brought into my house was a CT22.  I said " you guys have great taste in tools".  One guy looked at my Festool shirt and said

"looks like you know a little about Festool".  I had this big grin on my face and said "I know a little about them".

Since I built my cabinets the way I wanted them, the counter top installers need to cut some of cabinets for the sinks to fit.  His jig saw (bosch) I think died on

him while he was cutting, because he came out to my garage and asked if I had a jigsaw or something to cut the cabinet with.  He took a peek  inside my

garage and said "holly crap man, you know more then a little about Festool."  Anyways.......I pulled out my Festool PS300 and helped the guys out.  I think

he is going to buy a Festool jigsaw now  [wink].

Here are a couple pictures for you guys.

This is what the guys showed up with.  A CT22 and ROS125.  The guy who did the seem did a great job!  You can not find it.

Here is a shot of the guy sanding the seem.

This is what it looks like now.  I used 18mm prefinished plywood for the boxes.  And 18mm unfinished plywood for the skins and maple edge banding.
Conditioned the ply and edge banding before I stained with a Kona color stain.  The Island is 6 feet long by 4 feet wide.  Take a look at the pantry cabinet.
With the trusty TS 55, I used the unfinished plywood to miter the ends and wrap the wall with the ply to make it look like it's part of the cabinet.  I had electrical and plumbing in that wall and I didn't want to move it all.

I won't bore you with a bunch of kitchen cabinet photo's because I'm sure everyone on here knows how to build a box.

I just need to build my drawer boxes and doors.  I hope in a couple weeks or before Thanksgiving to be done.

Thanks for looking guys.

Eric,

One of the coolest posts I can remember in a long time.  Your smile and memories when you use your kitchen will be extra special.

Peter

Thanks Peter,

The smile my wife gave me is well worth it!

Cool! I know we did talk in between and you send me the pics at the time of building the cabinets. It came really good with the dark color stain on.

Good luck!

Thanks Danny.

The wife and I are very happy with the colors we or should I say she picked out.    She came across a picture in a Ikea catalog and showed it to me and said "build this."

The past 3 weekends that I have been working on the building of the cabinets, she has stepped up and mowed the grass for me.  I kind of don't want

to stop building cabinets.  [big grin].

Danny I hope your garage cabinets are coming along nicely.  Share some pictures brother!

Eric
