Just thought i would share my first big Festool purchase with people who could appreciate as much as i do. I would also like any feedback about what you guys think about my set up and any pointers about my new tools also would be welcome as i am pretty new to the Festool system. So here is what i received to day. I got the CMS GE Set, MFT full set, OF 1400 with a bunch of accessories, HL 850 Planer, PS 300 Jigsaw, Domino DF 500 set with the Tenon Assortment, CT 36 HEPA, Rotex Ro 150, RAS 115, TS 55REQ, Guide Rail Kit, Kapex KsS120, and a bunch more accessories like clamping elements, 3 piece hand sanding block kit and the list goes on to much to remember right now. The Kapex and Ras won't be here till tomorrow can't wait!!!! I forgot to mention i only have the 1400 rail as of now. I will be ordering another one this week what do you guys think the next one should be?                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                      [attachimg=#]

Nice plunge there!! Now get the 3000mm rail, a 1400mm holy rail and the LR32 set for drilling shelf pin holes (very accurate) and it sounds like the way you started you will wind up with ALL the router offerings as each one brings something different to the table. More sanders as they too display certain characters and abilities for specific uses. It is a long slippery slope this one, but a HECK of a fun ride! I know you will enjoy your new tools each and every time you use them. I just love building projects with my Festools and beware you could also get bitten by the HAMMER bug as this has happpened to many fellow Foggers! [big grin]

Wow!!! I think you cover all the bases.....I would just set some time aside to read about ,watch you tube videos, and learn each tool.  And congratulations on the purchase your gonna love them.

Are you that undisclosed lotto winner?!?!

Congrats man, I started on the slippery slope back in July and haven't looked back (or at my bank statement!)  Just picked up the Domino 700 earlier this week and am itching to try it and my new Seneca adapters this weekend...  "is there any other flavor other then green??"

enjoy

The only advice I can give is, if you are married, go get something nice for your wife. Either that, or hide that baseball bat I see in your pcture. [poke]

I thought you already had a ct36 and a ts55... [wink] I would get a 3000 and or a 1900. Those 1400 are handy but when it comes to cutting metric sized panels I think the 1900 gives you a bit more room.

Man that's a nice haul!  I'd take a step back and start putting them to use.  You'll spend a good bit on consumables and accessories (router bits, abrasives, blades), but you can buy those as the need arises.  If you don't have a table saw, consider the parallel guides and extensions for the tracks or some aftermarket equivalent.  And maybe some dogs for the MFT?  Other than that, watch some videos, get the tools dialed in and start making dust!

Merry Christmas early. That is quite a haul. I would get the 3000 rail

Wow! I got a free shirt once for putting in a much smaller order.  I think they need to give you a week's worth of Festool clothing!

I would also recommend the 3000 rail.

I did already have the ts55 but I sold it to a buddy of my so I could buy ts55 req. I still have the ct36 I just bought another one to dedicate to my Kapex and CMS. For breaking down sheet goods do you think the 3000 would be better than the 1900?

If you ever think of building cabinets, get the LR 32 with the "holy" rail (or two) rather than get more 1400mm plain rails.  The cost differential is minimal.

I'm a custom cabinet and furniture maker. So i'll defiantly take your advice and buy the LR 32. I'm also going to buy the 3000 rail and already have the 1400 what size "holy" do you think i should buy? Thanks for all the advice from you guy's!!!!

For my purposes, two 1400 mm "holy" rails (496939) work perfectly.  Don't forget to order the Guide Rail Connectors (482107).  You'll need two.  I replaced the screws that come in the connectors with M6-1.0x6 nylon-tipped hex drive screws from McMaster-Carr P/N 93285A412.  (You'll need two packs of five.)  I'll attach a picture that compares the standard one vs. the nylon-tipped one.  I also use the Betterley SLC23 Straightline Connector to ensure that when I join the two rails, I get then dead on straight before cinching down the screws in the connector bars.  I prefer two 1400 holy rails to a single 3000 rail for ease of transport and use.  YMMV.  Good luck.
