My first experience with the Kapex.

First I studied the features and functions of the saw. I found many unique features like the blade lock, the ability to make cuts past the center of the blade, the use of a systainer for an out feed table and a Lazar that really is accurate. Many unique features you won't typically find anywhere else. But the cut, the cut is like cutting leather with the sharpest shears. It has this buttery smooth cut like no other saw I've ever used. I do have Dewalts 12" SCMS and a Delta as well. Neither even come close. When I originally heard the price of the Kapex I was a little shocked. Now that I've used one, I can see why it's priced where it is. It's so much more saw than anything else. And no tear out what so ever. I give this saw an A+ Worth every penny.

Random post but any way.

It is a very good saw I must agree but! one of my lasers was not spot on but the other I need to adjust to make it right.  Easily adjusted though!

I have a digital stop table which I have to modify. The bench is too close to the wall and needs to be moved out. Problem is, we have an electrical outlet built into it. It's not a festool piece though. Maybe Festool will make one in the future. It is priced like festool though. around $1500.0 [scared] [big grin]. Here's a pic of it. Can't wait to have it all set up. It just gets better. [big grin]

Oh I yeah Iv seen it on the other topic you was discussion about it.  Just he said  digital stop like  festool make one so have been searching every where and nothing so i thought somethin brand new lol.

It is a great saw Bill. I agree with what you've said. I've had mine for a couple of years now--I think.
I really enjoy using it and since I do this 35 hours a week that's worth a chunk of change to me.

I'd love to buy a Kapex, but I've either got to sell my heavy-as-heck 12" SCMS or wait until it kicks the can.

When I'm ready to buy some festools I'll probably take all my money, visit my father in Iowa for a while and pick some up while i'm south of the border. They're about 30% more expensive up here  [crying] which is quite a big difference for tools that are alrighty pretty steep in price

i guess you've already heard that whine before since it is a festool forum after all [big grin]

Its a common whine, but you should know that down here we really envy you having Lee Valley stores!
