My IPad miseries

Why would you do a mini-series about your IPad? Oh...wait...

I started this thread in case there was something obvious (to others) that I was doing wrong.

No response in that regard, so off to Best Buy.

Not replacing it now, because , “What am I missing, by using this antique tablet?”

Answer:  “Nothing that I am aware of.”

But it is now working fine.  So thanks for the input everyone.

I think Jeff was making a joke about his mis-reading of the subject as "miniseries" instead of "miseries".  My brain did that to me as well, and still does.

Ah!  Now I get it.

Back in college, I had friend, Leroy, who was an art student.  He was also a skilled counterfeiter.  He had a nice business counterfeiting parking permits which were not available except to high ranking members of the administration and very generous alumni.

His dorm room was across the hall from mine.

While visiting with him, I saw a six-pack of soda—an off-brand imitation of Fresca.  It was called “Cactus Cooler”.  It had similar typography and colors as Fresca.

But no matter how many times I looked at it, it always read as “Coitus Cooler.”  I mentioned that at that time and everyone thought it was funny—including Leroy.

The next time I stopped by his room the “Coitus Cooler” actually said “Coitus Cooler”.

Leroy had perfectly painted over the “ac” in “cactus” and changed it to “oi”, so it actually read “Coitus Cooler”.

Only very close study of the labels (all 6) would (maybe) reveal the alterations.

He carried it on his flight home at inter session and asked one of the stewardesses if she could put the six pack on ice for him. She did.  And he could see all the stewardesses giggling over the name on the soda.

The effect was probably enhanced because Leroy was just over six feet tall, very athletic and very good looking.

Which is a very long way of saying that I understand mini-series vs miseries.

Addendum:  I found an old image.  It is not exactly as I remembered.  Maybe it is an earlier or later version (or my memory has faded over the last 58 years).
