Hi all

This my first posting here although I have enjoyed reading through the site for quite a while.

I have just finished this cabinet today ready for delivery to the client in the morning.

All the joints are done with the domino.  It all comes apart as it has to go upstairs in a cottage (in the lovely Kent countryside in England) , so all the sections are dominoed together too.  What a great tool the domino is!

The construction is tulip with mdf panels.  The interior and drawers are American white oak.  The finish is eggshell paint.

Hi all

The finish is eggshell paint.

Nice design, looks great.

I am curious about the build:
Are the exterior panels attached to a carcass of white oak or did you veneer the inside of the cabinet with white oak?
Also, eggshell usually refers to a finish texture and not a finish. Did you use a latex eggshell paint on this or is "eggshell" the color of the finish?

Hi Tim

The paint is acrylic eggshell finish.  (http://www.littlegreene.com/)

The cabinet is all in sections due to the fact it had to go up a small staircase.

The sides sit on the plinth with the front frame fitted with dominoes and screwed in place from the inside.
The floor in the top part is 18mm (3/4") veneered MDF and is dominoed to the support sections for the drawer runners.

The internal white oak panels you see are fitted separate and are 9mm (3/8") veneered MDF and screwed in place.
