My latest job

tidy looking job.. the fashion state side does appear to be very brown where as here in the uk it probably leans more towards white/cream or generaly lighter shades

Very nicely executed job, mastercabman, I particularly like the raised granite top at the back of the sink.
Pics of finished installs often mask the effort taken to get there, especially when you have to run electrics through the cabinetry.
I have a couple of questions: Are the crown moulds pre made or built up on site? and who or what is Shiloh?

Oh! By the way I like timber cabinetry in a kitchen, the plasticoated/vinyl wrapped  flat panel type leave me cold, look too uniform and have little character.
But, then I am not one for fashion trends  [big grin]

Rob.

Beautiful work mastercabman!  I personally like the style as it has some style compared to what I see in my neck of the woods.

One question - in your second picture of the hutch/buffet or whatever you would call it I notice the cabinet at the base itself appears to be scribed to go around the baseboard.  Why is this - why not fit the cabinet in and then butt the baseboard into the cabinet?  I'm not a cabinet/millwork person so I'm guessing there's some functional reason?

Nice work.

Shiloh is just a brand of cabinet that we carry. The company that makes Shiloh brand is called "Wood Product".They also makes a cabinet under the name of Sequoia. They are more of a builders grade.Particle board, less options.  Shiloh is all wood.Very nice finish and craftmanship.

As for your other question,it is a 2 parts crown.I used "furniture toe kick, upside down so that the detail is showed and then the crown nailed to the fur.toe kick and pushed up to the ceilling/soffit.

OK,I am assuming you are asking about where the left cabinet meets the tall basboard?
I did put the cabinets first, then i put the baseboard to the cabinet, then i installed the "furniture toe kick"
The reason i put the Fur. toe kick after the baseboard is because i would have to cope the baseboard to fit.In this case,i just had to cut my pieces flat and fit them without coping anuthing. The baseboard is taller than the fur. toe kick.

Thanks M.C., I often have to fit cabinetry made by others and have to utilise what is supplied to get a good finish, your crown solution is going in my ideas book. [thumbs up]

to me this looks upside down not sure weather im looking at the wrong angle ......
althought it is a good job just looks upside down lol

Nice job on the install!  Good to see others' work (especially installs, but then I'm partial to them being an installer myself).  Great looking miters, and I love the 'ol inverted furniture base-then crown look.

Question:  do you have a ts55 and do you use it onsite much?  I never thought I would use mine much on installs, but boy was I wrong...

Once again, great work.
