So I just got an mft3 and realized I would need a longer table to crosscut on .This extension is a scrap of 16"x36" mdf I had, I think I might cut it down some( 32"?) as there is a lot of torque applied to the mft crossmember.I didnt want the leg to the ground because I would like to be able to grab the the table and quickly and slide or move it around.I am awaiting the shipment of crossbraces ,and will see what that does for rigidity.(this thing(the whole mft) wobbles around like a $20 card table ! well almost ).The support arm I used was a piece of a cheap cargo load stabilizer bar ,with a split piece of electrical conduit welded on the bottom, and a piece of not yet trimmed rubber inner tube glued in ,also a piece of aluminum angle, with 5/16 carriage bolts. I am planning an MFT height sysport for a more stable setup, but this will work for a portable fix,but I wont try to stand on the end of it,at least not without the bmx stunt pegs. [wink]
