I decided to document this project as I go along due to the large size of this job.  It is all oak home office build out.

it will have on upper and lower cabinets, bookcase latter file cabinets, storage cabinet. room all trimed out in oak including windows, door etc. and oak crown all the way around... all made from scratch... and a entry way bench with cubbies on top with a place to hang coats all oak and bead board.

I am doing quite a few new techniques on this project.  I am domonio the face frames to all cabinets for one..  using blum tandem with blumotion under mount drawer slides with all drawers,  that I am dovetailing them with sommerfelds katie jig .

using campbell woodsong II wipe on stain... this stuff is great dries in 20 minutes and goes on very easy.

also I bought a lot of the oak 13/16"  ripped one edge straight... so I had to cut to exact widths that I needed but got the oak for 2 bucks a board foot, a very good price from the mill.

any I will update the picassa web album as I go along with more pic and details... and this is really a fun job, and a lot of work but the customers are very happy and so am I......

Kreg,

Great project - keep going dude!  Oak beadboard!

Peter

Looks great Kreg. I use the Blumotion slides on all my drawers, they add an over the top feature.

Kreg,

Great work, as usual.  I am looking forward to following along with you on the rest of the project.

Funny.  I was gonna make a comment like "what, no beadboard", but then I reread your post and got toward the bottom of the album and ...

Kreg:
How's the project going? It looks like a lot of fun so far. I keep looking for picture updates on your (picasa) site.
How do you like the Performax (Jet) 16-32? Are you using it on the oak for this project?
Tim

Tim. Thanks. It is going well I will have updated photos posted this weekend!

The personas is okay. Very finicky. And pops the built in fuse breaker a lot. You barley turn the handle after each pass. Otherwise it stops. Next time I would by a larger one with more power

Looking great, Kreg!  I just knew there had to be some beadboard involved.  [big grin]

Looking Good. 8)
Couple questions, did you make the oak bead board? Did you fit the bead board after fitting carcase? I normally pin them in a rebate to back of cabinet before fitting, helps keep carcase rigid. Those drawer runners are great I always hard sell em on those, except I use the generic ones for 14 GBP a pair.
Those open end sanders are notoriously bad, drum not staying parallel to table, under powered and eating paper. Sell it and go back to hand finish, you know it makes sense. [tongue]
Keep it coming, starting to take shape.

Over the past several month I have been buying some of Marc Summerfields products. The matched router bit sets and the easy set jig really simplify router tasks.  They are very useful!!! and easy to use. Next purchase is the Katie dovetail jig. already bought the 6 piece cabinet set and the 4-Piece Tongue & Groove Cabinetmaking Pro Set.

Just wanted to thanks Kreg for exposing me to Marc products.

No I did not make the bead board. I buy it 4x8 sheet 1/4 " thick. Usually I just glue and nail it to back. Sometimes route a groove  Add it then install carcus.  And yes that drum sander is a real pain and was not worth it as you say!  Should sell it and buy more festools.

Greg thanks. He makes good stuff and makes it easy!  I copied your note and emailed it to Marc.  In case you are not aware he is the brother of Craig sommerfeld owner of Kreg tool co. You know pocket hole company!

Nice job, Kreg.  Thanks for posting the pics...I love to see building in progress.  I am in the process of doing my home office now and this has given me some ideas.  I love the window seat file-cabinet idea and your trim is turning out real nice.

Scot. Thanks. It just takes a few extra steps to make it so much better  on the window trim

Did not know they were brothers! I also use several of the Kreg products. I have the pocket hole jig and their router table and fence system.

I was wondering when I saw Marc has a pocket hole jig that was like The Kreg Pocket hoe jig? Though maybe Marc was paying a license fee or something.
