Almost done doing my kitchen. All upper cabinets I made from rustic hickory. Also made all the doors  Counter top I made using Formica fx1080. Awesome product
Still have a few lower doors to make also
Tile backsplash I did also 9x18 sheets.

Cabinets stained with golden pecan min wax
Lots of work using 5/4 hickory rip one side.  Like most carpenters I'll be completely finished some day !!!

A bit rustic for my taste, and you loose the panel effect with all the grain changes, however, your attention to detail is awesome.  Bill

I like that Hickory.  I wanted in our own kitchen, but >>> THE BOSS prevailed  ::)

Looks excellent! That is one kitchen to my taste. Not just the doors but the slate tiling as well.
Kitchen envy..

Theres too much wild grain for me at then the worktop has it too...  The tiles dont match imho. Something with a more split face would go better.

kreg,
i did mines out of rustic hickory to. i love the way the grain pops. mines has a few more knots and worm holes.
Yours and mine are  very unique.

i like it

  Did you spray the finish?

Do you mean the color?
I don't think the top coat has been sprayed. Look at the full picture of the door, that looks like it's been wiped on.

love the hickory cabinets, always been a big hickory fan, of course its a bit much for some people; the formica works wonderful as well, nice job on coordinating the sink color with the cabinets and top, glad you didn't go with a stupid stainless steel sink
have to say though, can't stand the white micro, looks bad; that kind of kitchen deserves a ridiculously priced yuppie micro in some sort of color; sort of like the Ferrari red stove my wife found for our kitchen

Thanks

Finish was wiped on. I don't have spray equipment

And yes micro wave needs to be different. Girlfriend wanted white. And she paid for it !!  Stove still works. So did not replace it yet someday. Festool has my spare money and afflication clothes has the rest !!! For all the new clothes I,bought since I lost 35 lbs this year mad turned 60 so got to look hot and styling !!!

Yep hickory is unique you either like it or don't I love the wild grain look

What's your secret? I'd do ANYTHING to lose 35 pounds...

...except, of course, diet or exercise.
